Heartbeat Technology, a feature for Endress+Hauser flow meters, gives you diagnostics on your meter conditions in a proof test. The diagnostic goes beyond simple status to a report about the actual conditions of the sensor, transmitter, and output. Heartbeat Technology provides three types of data – diagnostic, verification, and monitoring.

The report on the web server basically tells you if the sensor passed or failed the test. If you want more info about the values of the Coriolis coils, for example, you’ll need plant asset management (PAM) software to provide more data or a graphic.

FieldCare, a type of PAM software, will allow you to run the same test on the flow meter, but now you can read the values! The software provides more details than pass/fail, which helps if you need more data or if you want a graphic showing your verification test results.

Most brands on the market offer similar tools to pull data on your flow meter health.
